Nick is a litigation lawyer qualified in both Canada and England & Wales. His practice is focused primarily on contentious IP, in particular the areas of copyright, patents, confidential information and trade secrets, trademarks, and privacy. He also maintains general commercial litigation and arbitration practice.
Nick acts for a broad range of clients, both prosecuting and defending their intellectual property rights and broader commercial interests. His clients include international brands, corporate and private entities, public bodies, and national governments. He has successfully secured pre-judgment remedies, including injunctions and freezing orders, and post-judgment enforcement of awards both in Canada and worldwide. In addition, he has extensive experience in obtaining evidence in Canada for use in foreign, multi-jurisdictional litigation.
Nick has appeared in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal of British Columbia, the Federal Court, and various international arbitration tribunals. Prior to joining Seastone, Nick practiced both IP litigation and commercial litigation at leading UK, US, and Canadian law firms in London, Tokyo, and Vancouver.
