AJ joined Seastone IP in June 2024, after summering in our office in 2023, as an articling student to work alongside talented IP lawyers across Canada on complicated but highly rewarding client files in a wide range of industries.
Prior to his journey to become a lawyer, AJ obtained his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Biomechanics) at the University of Calgary. Shortly after that, AJ obtained his Master of Science in Biomechanics at the University of Calgary. With a strong background in health and engineering, AJ has a deep understanding of the intricate relationship between science and law.
AJ assisted in guiding the creation of Canada’s first wearable technology training program and took the opportunity to learn from leaders within Alberta’s expanding health technology sector. This experience led him to expand his interest areas across numerous industries, and discover companies of all sizes, each of whom are actively contributing to our province’s innovation ecosystem.
AJ’s academic background and interests result in a strong passion and appreciation for intellectual property. AJ’s experience working within Southern Alberta’s health technology and innovation sector compliments his formal training in these areas.
